The Strenghts And Weaknesses of The American and British Armies in The American Revolutionary War

Strengths and weaknesses played an important role in deciding the outcome of the war. In certain situations, the British army seemed like they would be able to crush the American militia and win the war, surprisingly visa versa.
Some of these advantages are small, but they played an enormous part in some battles. Fighting in their hometown was a very big strength for the Americans. Since they were in their hometown, they want to fight harder since they want to save their house, family, jobs and farms. Another plus to be fighting at home, is that they know their terrain. It helps a lot in this war because you could hide behind rocks and go into caves that the British soldiers don't know about. At many of the men's homes', are rifles that they hunt or practice with. Although the colonists weren't trained, they were good at shooting and had a precise aim. Luckily for them, General Washington was a greatly trained leader, who is very intelligent about and experienced in battle. However, even the most trained and experience leader could not win the war alone; thats why when the French came and helped the American militia, they became a very formidable opponent. The French brought many useful supplies that the Americans needed because they either had none or little. Guns, cannons, gunpowder, uniforms, a very powerful navy, trained soldiers, and experienced commanders were given to the Americans to fight the war. With their replenished supply, the Americans were able to win the war later on.
The Americans werent the only ones with certain advantages over the adversary; Great Britain also had many useful ones. The British had much more money to use, power in their troops, and experience in war. Not only that, but the British had the most powerful navy in the world at the time! The Americans only had privateers until the French came with their navy. Because of the awesome navy, the British could take over water routes and ship their men and supplies up and down the coast in a fast time. Another plus that the British had over the Americans, was that the British infantry was enormous. It was so much bigger than the American militia that the Americans were lucky that they werent in Europe, because if they were, they would be crushed instantly. The British army also went through so much training and plenty of arms and cannons to use.
As many strengths as there are for both armies there are weaknesses that disabled the armies at times.
For example, The British had an awesome army that was probably the best, but most of it was 3000 miles in England. Since all of their stuff was in England, it took months to get the note for supplies they need, then it takes even more time for it to get to America. So if the British needed anything, it would take around 4 to 6 months for the word to get there and then the thing that they needed to get there. If they didnt plan it out, they could have lost the war faster due to not having supplies.
On the other hand, the Americans had all their supplies, but there wasnt enough. They had a decent amount of men, but they were untrained, very little supplies to use, a minimal quantity of cannons, and no navy until France came into the war on our side.
Basically, both sides had an even amount of strengths and weaknesses, but I think the Americans had a better chance of winning, (which they did), because it took too long for the British to get their supplies from England. However, if the British had all their army and supplies, America would have had no chance at all against them.
